  Kayaks

Unknown sports for a lot of people, the kayaking, over all in its modes of extrem, rodeo, skirt or waves surfing is a very important investigation field. The Rodeo kayaks have evolutioned of an impressive way, giving birth to unlikely shapes which reflect in their big brothers , the sailboats and the powerboats.

Thanks to my liking for this sport, in its versions of extrem and waves (surfing),& has lead to me to design new shapes and kayak models to perform the more incredible pirouettes on the water. The volumes distribution on the bow and the stern, the combination of flat bottoms with very accentuated chines, the union of convex forms which change in sharp edges, the good distribution of the& C.G. and in agreement with distribution of the kayaker weight, result in a machine capable of perform loopings, jumps and manoeuvres without almost effort.

For me, this is one of the most important investigation and development field, which I use to carry on bigger projects even in hull building. Examples of that are the system developed for me to build perfect molds and plugs in a cheaper, fast and accurate way with few tools, system that today is being used to build& one-off powerboats and like America's Cup Sailboats.

The up drawing is a rodeo kayak, designed some time ago for one of the more famous builders of kayaks in the world. With its flat bottom, sharp edges and a good volume and C.G. distribution, was a step forward for the development of this sport.

In the building process are used very advanced materials and technics, like for example carbon fiber, kevlar, dyolen among the composites and all type of P.V.C.'s of high density, materials very resistant to breakage and abrasion. Technics of moulded, heat preformed or extruded like vacum vaging, rotomoulded, blow-moulding in all its variants, etc., are very knowns and have experimented a great development thanks to the building of Kayaks.
